As some of you may have now heard, our flights today were quite an adventure. Our O’Hare to Dullas flight was 2 hours late and though Austrian Air was supposed to hold the Dullas to Vienna flight for us, we arrived about 10 minutes too late. At this p
oint, the group had to be split in order to be rebooked.

Miraculously, we only had to split in two groups. Group 1 was on a flight to Frankfurt, Germany within 2 hours, had a 5 hour layover there, and then continued on to Vienna, arriving in time for a late dinner. Group 2 had a longer layover at Dullas, took a flight to London Heathrow and, with their 9 hour layover, took a side trip to Windsor Castle. They have not arrived as of this posting at 12:09 am local time on Wednesday, but we hear they should be here soon.

It needs to be said that the kids were all wonderfully behaved during all of this. They napped, read, and played cards anywhere and everywhere, didn’t complain, and just went along for the ride. They all deserve a huge round of applause. And a good nights sleep in a real bed.
